Update: 10/9/2017

This photo was the first Image I ever took in manual mode with my new camera (new to me then). It was what kick started my photography as a career and not just a hobby. I entered it into my first photography contest over at iHeartFaces photography blog, did not win, but did it get featured on the blog, and found and received a ton of great support in the photography community, and overcame the obstacle and fear of putting my work out there open to the critique of others, which is a super hard thing to do. A lot has changed since then: my photography+ editing style, my camera, location. This picture is not only a fun image of someone I adore it is a little thing that reminds me that if I kept deciding to keep to myself because I was too scared to put myself out there then I might not be doing what I love today. It reminds me to keep pushing forward and be myself despite what others might think of my art and keep doing what I love. Take chances sometimes with a leap of faith! I just love what I do and there is always more to learn no matter how much we think we know so keep moving forward and looking for those opportunities that will give you inspiration! -Alissa
